How to send flowers to a patient at Cooper
- Confirm the patient is admitted and which unit they are on. Call the main number, 856-342-2000, and ask; the unit determines whether flowers are allowed.
- Order online with the hospital's street address. Use One Cooper Plaza, Camden, NJ 08103, not a P.O. box.
- Add the patient's full legal name and the unit or room. Put it in the recipient name and delivery-instructions fields so the information desk can route it.
- Order in the morning. Patients are often discharged before noon; an early same-day order has the best chance of arriving in time.
- Include your phone number. The florist calls you if the patient has moved or been discharged, so the delivery can be redirected.

About Cooper
Cooper University Hospital was renamed Cooper Norcross University Hospital in September 2026, when its parent system became Cooper Norcross Health. The address, phone number and website did not change. It is a 663-bed academic hospital and South Jersey's only Level I trauma center, with a children's hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper on the same campus.
Maternity, neonatal intensive care, pediatric and pediatric intensive care, adult critical care, behavioral health and hospice units are all on the Camden campus.
Cooper flower policy
Cooper's visitor guidelines allow flowers in all patient areas except the critical care units, Pavilion 5, and any room with an immunocompromised patient. Latex balloons are prohibited because of latex allergies; Mylar balloons are acceptable.
As at most hospitals, flowers are generally welcome on medical, surgical, maternity and rehabilitation floors and not permitted in intensive-care units or rooms with immunocompromised patients. Latex balloons are usually banned; Mylar balloons are fine. If you are unsure which unit the patient is on, call the hospital and ask before ordering.

Visiting hours and arriving at Cooper
Most adult units allow two visitors from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and visitors must be 15 or older. Critical care pauses visiting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Behavioral health has a short evening slot on weekdays and afternoon and evening slots on weekends. On the Mother-Infant Unit the support person can stay around the clock and other visitors come between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Visitors get a pass at the information desk in the main lobby, in the Roberts Pavilion, and need a government photo ID. The attached garage has entrances on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard at South 6th Street and on Benson Street, with an indoor hallway to the lobby. The hospital suggests 246 South 6th Street for GPS.
Gift shop at Cooper
The first-floor gift shop, Lori's Gifts, is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, but Cooper's site says sales of flowers and live plants there are temporarily unavailable. Until that changes, flowers have to come from an outside florist or arrive with a visitor.
What to send to a hospital room
- Compact vase arrangement, low fragrance, in a stable non-glass container: fits a crowded bedside table.
- Bright gerbera daisies or sunflowers: cheerful, scent-free and sturdy.
- A small flowering plant: goes home with the patient and keeps giving.
- Mylar balloon bouquet: the fallback when the unit does not allow flowers.

Cooper delivery FAQ
Is Cooper University Hospital now called Cooper Norcross University Hospital?
Yes. The health system announced its new name, Cooper Norcross Health, in September 2026, and the Camden hospital is now Cooper Norcross University Hospital. Either name works on a delivery with the address One Cooper Plaza, Camden, NJ 08103.
Which Cooper units do not allow flowers?
The critical care units, Pavilion 5 and any room with an immunocompromised patient, according to Cooper's visitor guidelines. Latex balloons are not allowed anywhere in the hospital; Mylar balloons are.
How do I check that a patient is still at Cooper?
Call 856-342-2000 and choose option 2 with the patient's full name to be connected to the room. Trauma-unit patients cannot be connected by phone.
Can I send flowers to a patient at Cooper Norcross University Hospital?
Yes. Order online with the hospital's address (One Cooper Plaza, Camden, NJ 08103), the patient's full name and the unit or room. The florist delivers to the information desk, and hospital staff bring the arrangement to the patient.
Do I need the room number?
It helps but is not required. The patient's full legal name and the unit are enough for the desk to route the delivery.
Is same-day delivery available to Cooper?
Usually, when you order in the morning. The hospital is inside the regular Camden delivery zone; the cutoff for your date is shown at checkout.
What if the patient is discharged before the flowers arrive?
The hospital will refuse the delivery and the florist will contact you to redirect it, normally to the patient's home. Order early in the day to avoid this.
